South American Red or Mountain Pineapple. The plant produces a spectactular flower and an edible fruit which is smaller and less fleshy than commercial pineapples. This pineapple variety is cold hardy and can be grown throughout NZ. Plant in full sun, protect from frost and stake against the wind.
