The Krausey sapodilla is native to Thailand and is an evergreen tree up to 20m high and 7m in width. It can tolerate frosts and is reasonably hardy. It prefers drier, well drained light to medium textured soils.
 
The fruit is small, elliptical with melting flesh, having a rich sweet flavour and a light cinnamon skin. Pick fruit before it softens.
 
Fruits from Sept to Nov in Australia. Fertilise lightly with NPK mixtures with applications during the spring, summer and early autumn.
