A turmeric plant grows to 1 m with lush green leaves. Harvest tubers in the autumn. Plant turmeric in well drained rich soil in a warm spot. Water and feed well. Keep back some tubers to plant for the next season. In cool areas of NZ plant in pots and keep in a warm spot.
